A GAME BY BRIAN WILSON
Where The Bees Makes Honey is a puzzle adventure game starring a young girl named Sunny who is dressed as a bee. The game spans across the four seasons with cinematic cutscenes between each world. Each season includes its own puzzles and sense of discovery.
“Thematically, I am portraying the importance of imagination and how we are able to view past experiences from a different perspective as we get older. By allowing the player to rotate the gameworld, I want the user to literally gain a new perspective to complete the game.”
“At the beginning and ending of the game, I propose creating a professional quality, voice-acted cinematic short film to tell the story. While gameplay will be from the perspective of Sunny when she is young, the story will be told by Sunny when she's older, reflecting on the time when she was young. This allows the player to experience a profound sense of nostalgia as they recall, or replay, memories alongside Sunny.”
“Sunny still likes to play with toys and play dress up. She wears a bee costume throughout the game, which helps inform the overall aesthetic. When she's wearing her costume, her play worlds become real. The core gameplay mechanic allows the player to rotate fully 3D isometric worlds in 90-degree increments either left or right. This mechanic changes elements within the level and allows players to explore further and solve puzzles.”
